Being the largest martial arts family in the world and feeding a family of athletes was no easy task.
Early on, our grandfather studied a diet that would provide his family with the purest and freshest foods available and an eating regimen that would keep everyone healthy, This is now known as the Gracie Diet.
I always heard my Grandfather saying that we are what we eat and although the Gracie Diet is not a diet to lose weight it will teach you how to make better choices regarding your food. The diet is as important to our family as Jiu-Jitsu is; they go hand in hand and they help each other succeed.
As a mother of three I take the parenting job very seriously and I am a firm believer that teaching your children how to eat is one of the best lessons you can provide them. I remember from an early age always being in the kitchen with all of the women in my family. Like in any household, the kitchen is the heart of the house. Angela was the first person that actually taught me how to cook and I am excited that she decided to charge our family recipes by creating such a beautiful book, bringing our meals to life and making it possible to give you a taste of our kitchen in your home.
